I had an absolutely fantastic stay at Tag Along Backpackers! Everything is immaculately maintained, and Ms. Manisha, who manages the hostel, goes above and beyond to make sure guests have an unforgettable experience. Her dedication shines through as she curates unique daily events, each one offering something new and memorable.

The hostel staff are incredibly helpful, providing all the details and itinerary suggestions needed to explore Sikkim to its fullest. They really go the extra mile to make you feel welcomed and informed.

The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it the perfect place to meet fellow travelers and share stories. I loved every moment here and can’t wait to return! Truly a gem for any traveler passing through Sikkim.

Really really great experience and so lovely and helpful people running this place! I had an experience of both dorm and private room and both are amazing. I loved all the little details that had been thought about to make the stay cozy (f e. tea in the room) but also all the bigger details - cleanliness, extra blanket, nice interior, hot water, etc, but above all - the sincere and warm atmosphere, feeling like belonging to a family. And the cafeteria and all the evening happenings there! You can never feel bored if you're at TagAlong 🙂 Thank you all for making our stay so perfect!

Nice clean and tidy rooms.. Mr. Saran helped me out with nathula trip..
My suggestion to fellow folks who stay here.. please adhere to the rules of the hotel..
Had a gang of boys from kerala as my room mates.. guess cleaning the vomit at 1.30 am(happy he did it at the least) .. not following the basic etiquette .. its was quiet irritating

Loved the whole experience. Went on a solo trip and the people were sooo nice and welcoming. The ambience is great with a cafe in ground floor. The rooms are super clean. Caretakers clean the room everyday. You guys will love it there.
Just remember if you have some expensive belongings then bring a lock with you, they will not provide the locks.

This is a review for Tag Along's 7 day group tour of Sikkim. While we went to beautiful and quaint locations, I found discrepancies in the service standards. For 4000/- per person per night for twin sharing rooms, it was not great value for money. Many homestays required 10 strangers to share 1 bath/ toilet, and some didn't even have washbasins. Even though we were all paying the same tariff, some people had higher category rooms with ensuite bathrooms, while others had to use a shared toilet. I have traveled with groups, in India and abroad, and I found this quite astonishing - even when I raised this with the founder, Manisha, who was traveling with us, she seemed quite indifferent and didn't think that charging everyone the same tariff was an issue. Generally, I didn't find her attitude hospitable, which is quite strange for a tour organizer. She seemed more keen on promoting homestays owned by her friends, entertaining white tourists and selling India to them, taking pictures and videos of us for marketing her own brand and org, than making sure that everyone was taken care of equally well. On 2/3 occasions, my sleeping bag was separated from my luggage and not returned to me for sleeping at night, and despite pointing this out, it kept happening. Drivers tag along for sightseeing too, for every forest walk or dip in the river, whistling or singing along the way, so you never find solitude even in the serene locations and you're constantly feeling watched and not left alone. Drivers often take a call on things without her knowledge and there is no clear communication about what the hell is going on. If something goes wrong in her absence, Manisha is completely indifferent and disinterested in finding out what happened, or making sure steps are taken to ensure it isn't repeated again (You will see this even in her response to my review below) She doesn't bother answering the phone and you're left wondering what to do. It's one thing to travel like hippies dirt cheap with your friends, and quite another to pay for a curated trip where some people are treated like they're special and others like they're disposable. There were days when we were taken to a waterfall in the dry season - this was just silly and totally avoidable by someone who claims to have local knowledge. While some snags are always expected during travel, how the organizer handles those situations and treats their guests, defines who they are and their level of maturity and suitability to this profession. My recommendation is to stick to getting any travel info/ advice for Sikkim if you need it, but avoid joining their group tours - clearly they are ill equipped for handling groups and disinterested in elevating their hospitality standards to a level that justifies their prices by Indian standards. You'll find much better properties and experiences at half the price and hassle.

I stayed for 4 days in Tagalong Backpackers hostel. I had a good experience but as a solo person, it got a bit lonely as no one else was staying in the female dorm apart from me. Everything else was great though! Just a note, location is 20 minutes walk from MG marg.

What a wonderful experience to be staying here. I came to Gangtok solo and the hostel was just the home needed .. amicable hosts, great downstairs cafe and meeting new travellers everyday with their stories.. it was an amazing experience..
