Lo cierto es que fui por las fotos tan bonitas y un comentario que lei que me impresionó.||||Despues de haber pasado un fin de semana allí todo lo que puedo decir son buenas palabras, el sitio es de lo mejor que he visto pero lo que de verdad es de alabar es la hospitalidad y generosidad de los anfitriones. No tengo palabras para explicar el buen ambiente que se respira alli.

We decided to make a two-nights stop in the Alpujarran mountains on our way to Guadix. We stumbled upon this B&B in Mairena by accident, and what a great find it was! The hosts Marjet and Raul were amazing and very helpful, the dogs very lively and sweet. ||The two bedrooms with a shared bathroom were perfect for our family of three. We slept very well in this beautifully restored building. The two breakfasts and the dinner on our second night on the terrace were delicious and very innovative. The hike we did to Ugijar (proposed by the hosts) was nice and rewarding. I can recommend this B&B a 100%.

Marjet and Raul were the most fantastic hosts and have made an exceptional job of sympathetically restoring their 300 year old house. It's full of charm, character and quirkiness. The evening meals were absolutely delicious with produce from their own garden. I am so glad we had the opportunity to stay here and enjoy the amazing views and walks. We were made to feel so very welcome and at home that we were sorry to leave. Thank you Marjet and Raul.

Marjet and Raul have renovated this very old house in Mairena to an excellent standard. Full of charm and character this is a delightful place to spend a holiday. There are wonderful walks on the doorstep and the views are magnificent. The garden is full of flowers and there are great places to sit and relax and take in the warm summer air. A haven of peace and tranquility.

We spent 10 days at Vina y Rosales in mid April. We are a couple, either side of 60, and were looking for a peaceful walking holiday in the Alpujarras. We struck lucky ! ||||The guest house itself is a substantial eighteenth century house, one of the largest in the village, which has been renovated by Marjet and Raul, a Dutch couple who bought it some 18 years ago. They have done a superb job, maintaining the integrity of the original building whilst upgrading all the interior in the traditional style with great care and good taste. They have also converted a derelict stable into an apartment, which is where we stayed. We booked this direct with them which benefited both parties. The apartment is on two floors with an upstairs bedroom and shower room and a downstairs kitchen/sitting room. They are connected by a spiral staircase located in a large covered area, open to the garden on one side, where you can relax and enjoy the garden and its associated wildlife. There is a log fireplace in one corner for chilly evenings. There is also a substantial balcony on the first floor with fantastic views into the hills and down the valley to the coast. The apartment was very comfortable and well equipped.||||Marjet and Raul are exceptionally warm and attentive hosts. They both speak fluent English and make every effort to help you make the most of your stay. We valued their advice on things to see and do and they are a mine of information on the local area, its history, customs, economy and wildlife. They have a well stocked collection of books, many in English, and assorted travel and walking guides which we used a lot. Marjet will cook a three course evening meal, with local wines for around 20 euros per head. We had four of these meals and they were all quite excellent. These may be shared with other guests which gives a great opportunity to meet and talk with travellers from other countries. ||||We hired a car in Malaga and took the more inland scenic route to Mairena which takes something over 3 hours, depending on stops. The village itself is very quiet and representative of a number of similar white walled, flat roofed villages in the eastern Alpujarras. It has one shop and daily visits from vans selling fresh fish and bread. Our main activity was walking/hiking and this was exceptional. We averaged about 10 miles a day . Some of the routes were described in local guides and some were over more established walking routes like the GR7 which connects many of the villages in the area. We did circular walks from the guest house on four days and on other days we drove a short distance to start walking from a new place. The terrain is varied and the scenery is simply stunning.||||All in all a great holiday, the memories of which will stay with us.

We stayed with Marjet and Raul for five nights in early May. It was magical. This BNb has character and charm , Marjet cooks fabulous and affordable meals , the views are breath taking , the rooms beautiful and comfortable. We walked from the village every day and our hosts were helpful and informative but not intrusive. Highly recommended.
