Without doubt this is the best place to stay near Iznajar. ||If you are looking for tranquillity, excellent accommodation and friendly hosts, you MUST STAY HERE.||We stayed for four nights in February and the stay was very comfortable and warm.||The hosts: Janette and Steve are wonderful people who have paid attention in restoring their beautiful property with meticulous care and authenticity. The gardens and surroundings have been tastefully landscaped and there is plenty of parking with turning points. The sheets are 400 thread count and the moment you pop under the duvet, you feel wrapped in a cloud of luxury. The bathrooms have been decorated in a traditional andalucian style and the showers are double, towels are clean and fluffy and the bathrooms are practically as big as the bedroom. There wasn't a spot of dust in the whole house! ||Janette ensures bottled water is available in the rooms and the breakfast is something to die for. Fresh bread, homemade jams, cereal, yogurts and endless cups of tea/coffee, but the best part are Steve's super-duper scrambled eggs and bacon. The breakfast alone is worth the cost of the stay!!!! ||Wifi is available at no extra cost and there are plenty of CD's and books to enjoy, however should you need further entertainment, you can rely on Maricarmen and Raoul: the resident cats. Just leave your front door open and call and if they are not too busy playing in the olive grove, they will come over to satisfy their curiosity and fall asleep in front of the log burner.||Definitely a home from home...

It's really difficult to describe the experience... expect to be spoiled by the owners, Janette and Steve, a lovely Scottish couple (with two cute cats: Raul and Maria Carmen)! Casa Las Encinas is a beautiful rustic B&B in the "middle of nowhere", where you can only listen to the wild animals and the wind. If you looking for unique landscapes, excellent accommodation, great rates, outstanding breakfast, go for it: this is the best place to stay near Iznajar.||||I only wish we could have spent more time there...||||P.S: WiFi is available for free.

Spent 3 nights tucked away on the hillside in this fab little B and B. The location is breathtaking and I really don’t think I’ve ever stayed anywhere so relaxing and peaceful before. It was just the perfect antidote to our stressful lives! ||||We stayed in the Los Olivos room which was beautifully decorated in a rustic style. Despite the heat outside it was lovely and cool inside. We were well looked after (and entertained) by Jan and Steve who are very knowledgeable about the local area and its customs. They served up a sumptuous breakfast in the courtyard every morning – no better way to start the day. ||||Thank you for making us feel so welcome and we hope to be back soon.

Imagine being in the “middle of nowhere”, on the top of a hill overseeing olive trees. A small road winds up there and traffic is mainly restricted to you, next to a few of residents living nearby. Definition of being away from it all…||||And yet, you’re just 90 minutes away from Malaga, Grenada and Cordoba and brilliant sightseeing.||||All the while, when you’re back, it’s quiet again, like in really quiet. Few places allow for such relaxation.||||Nicely refurbished and tastefully refurbished small farm / sheepfold. Thick walls. Ground floor with an entrance / office / fridge and a superbly comfortable reading room (and stove for fresher nights). Upper floor with nicely decorated and roomy rooms upstairs, each with a refurbished bathroom. Windows overlooking said olive trees. The “Hobbits” room was a blast for the kids (mind your head, if you’re taller than 5ft, as the beams within the room can be though on your head…). The kids totally loved the place, as we did, especially because they were quite free to roam outside (no traffic). And, for once, ours slept like logs there.||||Given the way the place is split, you feel like “owning” your part of the place with the hosts living in the other end with a separate entrance and a common patio. So you definitively don’t feel like intruding on them, nor the other way round.||||Great gastronomy at night at “La Haza”, a 10min walk down the hill, good to open appetite and thereafter to digest. It might actually take a bit longer on the way back, after having been so outstandingly fed.||||Stunning sky view at night: given the remoteness of any (city) lights of the place, the star-gazing experience is just awesome!||||Good Wi-Fi connection and speed, if despite the relaxing atmosphere you really need to reconnect with the world.||||Spent 8 days early May 2013. Had fantastic weather. Went out during the days to check the tourist sights and surroundings (always leaving too late, but you sleep so brilliantly when it’s so quiet and you’re used to the city hustles). Tons of things to see and do otherwise, especially with kids, in order to alternate culture, nature, discovery and entertainment. Wished we had stayed longer…||||Janette and Steve were outstanding and charming hosts. We came as guests and left as friends, and totally relaxed.

Beautifully restored rustic B&B. Fantastic breakfast with great choices.||Good location for access to Iznajar and other places. We stayed for a couple of nights when the weather was not so good, and it was really nice to go back in the evening, to a really welcoming log burning fire in the very cosy lounge. Thanks so much to Janette and Steve for being such fantastic hosts. Would definitely return!

Would highly recommend casa las encinas for people who like simple and tasteful decor run by friendly and intelligent. it was perfect for us and I will certainly return. If you book both bedrooms you have full run of the 2 downstairs rooms too so makes for good value and there is a big wood burning stove that made the place very cosy.
