Absolutely idyllic few days spent last week in this peaceful haven. I watched swallows swoop down to dip in the deep blue water of the inviting swimming pool against a backdrop of olive grove clad slopes. Cortijo Las Rosas has been lovingly restored by 2 English sisters - Gillian and Marylynne to create 3 self-catering casitas providing spacious accommodation combining the highest standards of comfort with authentic good taste..ideal base to explore this beautiful part of Spain - Cordoba, Granada and many smaller hilltop whitewashed towns and villages as well as the coast - all easily accessible during day trips. Car essential as quite remote . Keen walkers can walk to nearest village (only a few minutes away by car) or explore the surrounding countryside. Excellent hosts - who know this area so well - can offer help and advice when needed but allow their travel weary visitors to just rest and recuperate in peace. Extremely generous welcome pack of grocery supplies including local honey and olive oil enables trouble free self catering, easily topped up by visits to local supermarkets when required.
Highly recommended.

We spent 11 days at las Rosas in September and loved every moment- wish we could have stayed much longer! Set in beautiful countryside Marylynne and Gilly have created a truly magical place. Our casita was lovely- white walls and interesting fabrics and extremely well equipped. Each casita has a private courtyard but the tables around the gorgeous pool made a relaxing space for a sundowner at the end of the day.||Our hosts could not have been more helpful, providing invaluable advice when we were planning our sightseeing trips. Granada and Córdoba are easy day trips and there are many lovely small towns and villages to visit too. We loved it here and images of the brilliant blue skies, the dazzling white walls and the shimmering olive groves will stay with us.

The 'Cortijo Las Rosas' is the best and the loveliest accommodation we ever stayed in. Gillian and Marylynne have created a little paradise in the middle of a peaceful location. Their hospitality and heartiness is second to none and from the first minute we felt warmly welcomed and quasi at home.||The 'casitas' are very spacious, spotless clean and extremely well equipped, each one with a private 'patio'. The gorgeous pool area, the garden, the surroundings and the views are breathtaking and invite to relax and to slow down.||We can highly recommend this Cortijo and will come back soon. ||Thank you very much indeed, Gillian and Marylynne!

After our 1st visit 4yrs. Ago, we kept saying we had to return. So on our retirement trip. Corjito Las Rosas had to be our first stop. We spent 2 glorious weeks just unwinding. The Corjito is in the middle of the olive groves, fabulous views, immaculately kept, and the pride of Gillian and Marylynne. Exceptional service provided by 24/7 on site hosts who care for your every need. ||Located in rural Andulucia, there are easy drives to great villages, as well as Granada, Cordoba, Antequerra, and Gillian and Marylynne can send you off on great adventures that, you would not otherwise experience. ||We stayed in Galgo Casita, with a snug bedroom down, so sleep was a gem, and a great upstairs living area which had a very well equipped kitchen, this encompasses a very private secure patio for your quite times. The gardens and pool area are nicely laid out and always well cared for.||Marylynn’s welcome basket is a must, best value for your euro by far, and nice way to start your stay. There are arrangements for you to have special extra fridge and freezer space, and washing is easily accessed.||We have travelled much throughout Europe and this is by far the best value for your Euro. This is truly an Travellers experience, one that we will do again some day.|Happy travels.

This is a wonderful location for a peaceful holiday, completely away from it all. My husband and I stayed here for two very relaxing weeks in April, during which time , we both had significant birthdays. Gillian and Marylynne could not have been more helpful. They recommended restaurants, organised birthday meals and surprises and suggested lovely locations to visit. ||On arrival, they upgraded us to a bigger cortija , because poor weather meant that our original choice was not ready. All the cortijas are sympathetically decorated and maintained to a comfortable standard with private courtyards. From the pool and patio there are stunning views of olive groves on hillsides.||We divided our time between walking locally, visiting the nearby small towns and villages and going further afield to Granada and the Alhambra. Two weeks was not long enough to experience all that this lovely area has to offer and we will certainly be returning in the near future.||It was a stunning place to stay and we enjoyed a truly lovely holiday.

This is a beautiful Spanish retreat! The ladies who own this Cortijo could not have been more helpful in making our stay more comfortable. We travelled with our two nearly teenage boys who, despite the no existent internet connection, were happy to make use of the natural entertainment offered. From the refreshing pool to the wide selection of games, and the beautiful scenery our week long stay was perfect!

Idyllic location, stylish accommodation, perfect hosts.

The property is a converted Cortijo (rural villa) which comprises a large house where the fantastic owners, Marylynne and Gillian live.

The three self contained holiday lets in the converted farm buildings offer private accommodation with a shared outdoor pool, terrace and BBQ area. The location is amazingly tranquil, surrounded by birdsong and olive groves.
We first visited in 2016 and are booked in again this summer. Don't forget to switch on the pool lights for a evening swim overlooking the valley.

A car is essential and we travelled to Granada, Cordoba and Malaga as well as a host of smaller rural towns. Andalusia is beautiful and full of intriguing history and this is a great location to base yourself.
