La estancia en la Finca Las Encinas ha sido una experiencia maravillosa para todos los sentidos, que nos ha llenado de paz y tranquilidad. A destacar la cálida y personalizada atención de Maki que se esfuerza al máximo porque tengamos una plácida estancia y también, ese profundo conocimiento de los fogones de Clive que ha sido todo un descubrimiento y un regalo increíble e inolvidable para nuestro paladar. Gracias a los dos por habernos hecho disfrutar tanto. Sin duda, un lugar al que volver y tener en nuestra agenda....

Hemos pasado 2 semanas en esta maravillosa finca que se encuentra a pocos km del precioso pueblo de Iznajar que recomiendo recorrer todos sus rincones y conocer a sus amables gentes.||||De la finca solo puedo decir que es expectacular, cuidada al detalle, respetando el encanto de los cortijos antiguos andaluces, con unos rincones preciosos y unas maravillosas vistas,una expectacular piscina que nos hizo mas llevadero el calor que hacia en la zona, la casa estaba impecablemente limpia y con todas las comodidades. ||||Pero sin duda lo mejor de todo han sido sus propietarios Maki, Clive y Su hijo Kai,||Maki es una persona y una anfitriona excepcional, en todo momento pendiente de ayudar en lo que hiciera falta desde el primer dia y dispuesta a facilitarnos lo que necesitaramos , proporcionandonos hasta productos de su huerta que estaban riquisimos y Clive manteniendo la finca y la piscina impecable cada dia, ha sido un placer conoceros y esperamos vernos pronto. ||||Muchas gracias Maki por todo y en nuestra familia estamos encantados de haberos conicido. Despues de viajar durante muchos años y haber conocido muchos alojamientos y muchos propietarios podemos decir sin duda que es el mejor alojamiento y los mejores anfitriones que hemos encontrado.||||Mucha suerte y un fuerte abrazo de esta familia/amigos de Bilbao.

Precioso alojamiento, decorado con exquisito gusto, aunque lo mejor son sus anfitriones, Maki y Clive. Ofrecen cursos de cocina de muy alto nivel si quieres experiementar con productos locales. Un imperdible sin dudarlo!

What a wonderful stay with had with Clive, Maki and Jan! As mentioned in previous guest reviews, it was the highlight of the trip. We were traveling with our 20 something kiddos and had a blast. The cooking classes were superb and we learned a lot! The grounds were serene and beautiful. It was the perfect combination of relaxation and fun, all while dining on divine local goodies. Clive and Maki are top notch hosts who make you feel right at home. Sweet Jan the pup kept us company so we didn’t miss our dog as much. All in all a perfect experience. Highly recommend and we will be back! Thank you Clive and Maki!

Staying with Clive and Maki is an absolutely wonderful experience. I went with my family when I was young and recently had the chance to return. They are such wonderful hosts, the rooms are cozy and comfortable, and the whole stay was very relaxing. The dinner and breakfast were nothing short of phenomenal (maybe the best ever?) and the ingredients are super fresh. Iznájar, nearby, is a cute little town with lovely views of the lake. If you're looking for a cozy and relaxing stay in the countryside of Andalucía, I could not recommend it more.

Maki & Clive’s finca is nestled into the hills above Iznájar with stunning views and in easy driving distance to Granada and Cordoba. The peace and quiet is a tonic! These lovely hosts, and their beautiful family of pets, made us feel utterly at home. Is there anything nicer than a breakfast of fig jam, jamon, and plentiful coffee enjoyed next to a log fire? Clive’s cooking is masterful - the most delicious three courses each night with perfectly balanced flavours from roasted quail to trout, freshly-picked-lemon panna cotta and chocolate olive oil torte. Perfection.

We have just had four very unusual nights staying at Finca Las Encinas .|We loved the location ,the authenticity of the old finca building ,which has been extended and modified into a comfortable home and B&B .|Maki & Clive welcomed us in and Maki was outstanding as a host ,very sociable and she went out of her way to talk to us about the local area and life in the Iznajar area.|We were looking forward to Clive's cooking as he runs cooking classes and having read the reviews we were full of anticipation.|Our stay was tainted by Clive's attitude and rudeness . We think that he may have a problem that was undisclosed but he seemed rude, on edge and angry ,as though he didn't want to be cooking and everything was a pain for him. He slammed door's and walked off after asking questions about his food without waiting for our answer. When we requested just two courses he plonked down a desert saying " I didn't get the message ,here it is, you will love it !" all very strange and off hand.|Maki , we felt, was carrying the whole place on her shoulders and our sympathies lie with her.|Our room was clean and comfortable ,the heated floor in the bathroom a real luxury and refreshed towels, after a couple of days ,most unexpected and a delight. However ,the balcony area was unusable because of plant growth blocking the view and making it dark .|The pool needed a good clean ( it was too cold for swimming , but appearances matter and it looked unloved ) and the garden area was a little unkempt and needed lots of attention around the patio's and pool .The outside furniture was all looking a little sad. Unsure what Clive did all day ,he claimed to have spent one day making fish soup ! |Clive seemed to do a tiny bit of DIY while we sat having breakfast , surely better to wait for us to go out for the day before cementing in a brick or the next day , painting the paster work around his brick ! |Dinner, both nights we ate was simple and being fish, took little time to prepare and cook.|The log burner was lit in the dining area and this made for a inviting dinner experience ,just let down by Clive and his strange manner.|We would hope that Clive sorts out his issues and supports Maki who deserves all the credit for this business.|It was good value, nice location, authentic building and a warm welcome from Maki .|We noticed a difference in Clive's conversation to two other departing guests , but as they had previously attended one of Clive's cooking courses maybe he only has time for guests who pay for this ?| Lots to cheer about , shame we came away with the above conundrum . We would go back , but not to chance that Clive was in the same mood.|Shame ,we wanted to love it all.
